Real Estate Institute acknowledges that money comes before customers.
Dunedin real estate firm, The Joneses, has taken the country by storm, slashing the cost of selling your house.*
At the same time, the national body for land agents, the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand has had a large number of complaints lodged against its member firms.
The Joneses does not conform to REINZ practices - they don't charge enough to satisfy the greedy slime which make up the REINZ.
This week, the REINZ had the option of pursuing some of their dodgier operators and commence enquiries into complaints, or pursuing an action against The Joneses. Which do you think they did?
Very good!
In a show of solidarity with higher charges, and attempting to deny cheaper fees to customers, the REINZ commenced action against The Joneses.
Let there be no doubt at all now that real estate is about maximising fees and has nothing to do with service, ethics or fair business practice. Face facts, real estate agents are the lowest form of blood-sucking vermin in the marketplace. Used car dealers are honest in comparison.
If you can't use The Joneses, do it privately. There is no reason at all for the REINZ to have a monopoly in selling houses, in fact it is a disgrace.
*edit 2008. Pity.
